The DoctorTrusted / Consumer Trusted Scam

DoctorTrusted has been renamed to Consumer Trusted. Consumer Trusted is a scam, and DoctorTrusted is a scam as well. It's a company (we did not find any evidence of company registration though) that makes money by helping to make pharma-scammers seem legit. A few apparently corrupt MD's - if they exist at all - appear to cooperate with the scam. At best - because when we try to find more information about the "doctors" that "trust" the sites with the DoctorTrusted seals, we find that these doctors do not appear to exist. DoctorTrusted charges 80 dollars a month for the privilege of having their "Seal of approval" on a site. DoctorTrusted does not seem to verify that any of the claims made on a site are correct. Per site, DoctorTrusted makes an approximate 900 dollars profit per year by helping scammers peddle their wares.

We are in a good position to review DoctorTrusted because we signed up four sites with them. Two major sites were approved right away and remained approved for years. These sites had hundreds of pages of medical information and approval was instantaneous. The other sites, much less prone to medical information that could have been wrong were refused by DoctorTrusted and DoctorTrusted did not want to tell us why. There were big problems with DoctorTrusted's service. We never received legal invoices from them. Only when we emphatically urged them to start issuing invoices that we could use in our bookkeeping, and that otherwise we'd have to cancel their service, they started to issue us invoices. DoctorTrusted provides no way to cancel a subscription with them. It is impossible to reach them to terminate the monthly billing. The only thing that works is to get your credit card invalidated.

Most of the time, DoctorTrusted's backend system did not work. They only issue invoices from there, so we were unable to download them:

DoctorTrusted Scam

One day, DoctorTrusted sent us an email, saying that "one of your customers complained about you" and "solve this as soon as possible". The "complaint" was by Kacper Postawski, using his fake alias "Clare Davidson", complaining that we were unfairly exposing him as a scammer on our site. When we told DoctorTrusted that the complaint was bogus, they answered:

The email you got from us is from an automated system for resolving issues between a seller and a customer. The person has submitted a complaint that's why you got the email.
Thank you,
Rachel

So we assumed the matter was resolved. However, some months later, we started to wonder why our sales had gone down. It turned out that without notifying us, the DoctorTrusted seals on our site now said: "Untrusted" in red text on every page of our sites that carried the seal! DoctorTrusted did not respond to emails, and their "contact us" link on their site did not work, after we logged in. Our invoices were gone from their site, so we can't deduct the expenses.

But it gets much more interesting. We discovered who runs Doctor Trusted! In our understanding, Doctor Trusted is a criminal organization based in Israel. They cooperate with a few corrupt MD's or at least claim they work with MD's, because we were not able to verify that these "MD's" really exist. We found their seal on some very questionable sites. The seal basically guarantees that the site is dodgy. If a site needs to spent a thousand dollars a year on a "seal of approval" from such a questionable, amateuristic, rudely incompetent, actually damaging company, then that site likely is untrustworthy. Indeed: DoctorTrusted is highly untrustworthy themselves. Try to find anything about them. It is as if they do not exist. They aren't BBB accredited, for example. There is no company address on their site. No phone number. No email address. Nothing. Through some sleuthing (the ICANN WHOIS registry for website registration data), we discovered that a "Bill Anderson" owns DoctorTrusted.org:

The man's data:

Bill Anderson

DoctorTrusted.org
1115 Broadway
New York, NY 10010
tel. (646) 737 0558

billanderson@doctortrusted.org

What other domains does this guy own? It turns out he's a TV evangelist on bami.org!

Bill Anderson, scammer

And before that, this gangster-lookalike was a real estate broker at billandersonbroker.com. Quite a character! We were right when we said that DoctorTrusted is operating from Israel. Mr. Anderson appears to be a dual Israeli-US citizen as well, in spite of ministering to Christians. Here he speaks Hebrew and urges his flock to abide by the laws of the Torah, especially the Sabbath. Abiding by the Torah is Mr. Anderson's favorite subject in most of his sermons.

The DoctorTrusted website is out of order at the time of writing (November 23, 2015). They do not accept new applications. Their press release statement is a generic blurb from a template, with things like {COMPANY_NAME}. We think the IRS may be on to them. There is no evidence that DoctorTrusted is a legitimate company.

Update: The same company now operates a similar scam under the name Consumer Trusted (consumertrusted.org). Same site look & feel, same registrant, same office address and they did not even bother to change the text "DoctorTrusted" some places yet:
