Cozaar side effectsCozaar is also known as Losartan potassium, used as a medicine against hypertension.

A major bad side effect of Cozaar is that it can cause fetal and neonatal morbidity and death when administered to pregnant women. Several dozen cases have been reported in medical literature in patients who were taking angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors such as Cozaar.

Other suspected and reported adverse effects of Cozaar are neonatal skull hypoplasia, anuria, reversible or irreversible renal failure, and even death. Oligohydramnios, prematurity, intrauterine growth retardation, and patent ductus arteriosus have also been blamed on bad effects of Cozaar.

There are concenrs that Losartan potassium includes the danger of decreased body weight, delayed physical and behavioral development, mortality and renal toxicity. Studies on rat fetusses gave rise to these concerns.

Irreversible renal impairment has been reported in susceptible individuals treated with Cozaar.

People with hypersensitivity to aspirin and penicillin, when treated with Cozaar, could develop swelling of the lips and eyelids and a facial rash (angioedema). Hemolysis and andsuperficial peeling of palms are also rare adverse effects of Cozaar.
Other potential or suspected bad side effects of Cozaar include facial edema, fever, fainting, angina pectoris, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, arrhythmias, palpitations, tachycardia, constipation, dental pain, dry mouth, flatulence, gastritis, vomiting, gout, limb pains, joint swelling, arthritis, fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression, strange dreams, libido problems, bad memory, migraine, nervousness, tremors, insomnia, dizzyness, bronchitis, alopecia, dermatitis, dry skin, flushes, rashes, sweating, blurred vision, stinging eye, bad taste, tinnitus, impotence, urinary tract infection.
